Midland Junction Arts Centre

This beautiful building has had a number of incarnations including a TAFE, primary school and most recently as the home of the Australian Opera Studio. It is currently leased by the City of Swan from the Midland Redevelopment Authority. The venue is just next to the Midland Gate Shopping Centre, backing on to Juniper Gardens and the Dome Cafe. The entrance is on the Dome Cafe side of the building (away from Great Eastern Highway. There is plenty of free parking nearby The auditorium features tiered seating All seats are unreserved and ticket prices are the same throughout the venue Wheelchair accessible seating is available in the auditorium if booked prior It opened as the Midland Junction Technical School 1904. During 1909, the school extended its curriculum and art classes were introduced. The first of many exhibitions was held at the end of that year with the Midland Junction Municipal Council donating two guineas as prizes. Many locals have studied in the venue, either as school students or studying visual arts at TAFE. We would love to hear from you if you have any stories or photos, or would like to look around.
