ABOUT US: QUEEN STREET STUDIO is a non-profit creative development and rehearsal space run by artists for artists. Opened in June 2005, Queen St Studio is a response to the lack of affordable space for artists in Sydney to practice their craft. The studio provides a low-cost, no-frills facility for the performing arts community and features a large open rehearsal area with separate chill-out space. QUEEN STREET STUDIO is a member-based organisation and is open to individuals and groups who identify as “emerging, independent or established performing artists”. The studio is managed and operated by local artists Sam Chester and James Winter, supported by a board of management. Located in Chippendale, the studio is a 5-minute walk from Central Station, Railway Square and UTS on Broadway. THE STUDIO: QUEEN STREET STUDIO is perfect for artists working in the movement, theatre and film disciplines. The facility is suitable for training, creative development, rehearsals, workshops, classes, meetings, castings and film/photographic shoots. The studio is available for hire 7 days a week from 7.30am – 10pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 9pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. Situated on the 2nd floor, the studio is a re-conditioned warehouse space with large north facing windows for natural light and views across the city. The space is designed to meet the needs for a professional rehearsal facility within a clean, quiet, comfortable creative environment. STUDIO RATES: Bookings are confirmed on a “first in” basis and can be made by email (preferred) or phone. Rates are charged by the hour and fall into two categories: Member and Non-Member. Member Rates: $12.00 – unfunded individual* $16.00 – unfunded group** $22.00 – funded*** $28.00 – commercial**** Non-Member Rate: $45.00 – Non-arts***** All rates are GST inclusive.
