Healing By Heart
A physical dance theatre performance based on texts and poems by Jenni Overend.
Jenni is best known for her published Children’s books, among them her latest controversial book ‘Hello Baby’ (published this year by ABC Books and nominated for the Australian Children’s Literary Awards)
With a cast comprising of dancers and actors, Healing by Heart will explore the inner journey of grieving and healing a diagnosis of Cancer. A woman finds herself confronted by the possibility of death and all her life choices and relationships are thrown into sharp relief as she looks back and journeys forward into Life.
Descansos is a Spanish word that means rest or resting place. The word is often used in the context of the small “deaths” we experience as we travel through life, the crossroads where a life-changing decision needs to be made.
