Following their success in 2001 with Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, the Sydney University Madrigal Society returns with a fresh new production of an operatic masterpiece. Offenbach's final work, The Tales of Hoffmann, makes the German poet E.T.A. Hoffmann the anti-hero of his own stories, producing a saga which is by turns macabre, moving and hilarious.
