In Homebody/Kabul, internationally acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner has turned his penetrating gaze to the arena of global politics to create this suspenseful portrait of a dangerous collision between cultures. Written before 9/11, this play premiered in New York in December 2001 and has had subsequent highly successful productions across the UK and the US.

Homebody/Kabul takes us on a compelling and epic journey into a world at odds with itself. It is a work of genius, rich with gripping language, mystique and cultural chaos.

Tony Kushner is best known for Angels in America, chosen by London’s National Theatre as one of the 10 best plays of the 20th century. His other plays include A Bright Room Called Day, Slavs!: Thinking About the Longstanding Problems of Virtue and Happiness and Widows with Ariel Dorfman. He has also written the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s latest film Munich.
