Described as Australia's best-loved Prime Minister, Ben Chifley is one of our great
historical characters. This intimate one-man show eavesdrops on chifley's thoughts
as he remembers his painful childhood, his work as a train driver and union man, and
his regrets and achievements as Prime Minister.
Set in his modest home in Bathurst in 1951, Ben Chifley prepares a speech he will deliver
the following day at the Labor Party conference.
it's a difficult time. Two months earlier the Labor Party was defeated in the election.
His political legacy appears to be in ruins..........and his health is failing.
