Recognised as one of the great theatrical masterpieces of the 20th century, this epic drama examines life in America dominated by the onset of the AIDS epidemic and the new-dawn conservatism of the Reagan administration during the mid to late 1980s. The multi layered story embraces religion, loyalty, love, betrayal, racism, sanity and denial as Kushner explores “the state of the nation” during those uncertain times. Profoundly moving, yet very funny; angry, but full of compassion - this play still has the ability to astound and shock; and was a worthy recipient of the 1993 Tony Award for Best Play and Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This play contains adult themes and smoking.
