THE WIZ opened on Broadway on 5 January 1975 and ran for 1,672 performance under the direction of Geoffrey Holder and starring Stephanie Mills and then went on to Hollywood with the movie starting Diana Ross and Michael Jackson being released in 1978
So ease on down the road with us as we hurtle into Munchkinland in the Land of Oz and watch the adventures that unfold for Dorothy as she makes friends along the way to the Emerald City; the Scarecrow who needs a brain, the Tinman, who needs a heart and the Cowardly Lion who just needs some courage. She defeats the evil witch and gets to see the powerful Wizard who turns out to be a phoney. But he is able to convince Dorothy that she can do anything she wants if she just believes in herself.
