Krinkl Theatre presents Tightrope
Krinkl Theatre is an object theatre company, which manipulates everyday materials, by distorting their use and giving new life to inanimate objects. They have won Best Outdoor Theatre award for their show “Business Relations” in 1999 and Directors choice award for ‘Tightrope’ in last years Melbourne Fringe Festival
“Tightrope”, a thoroughly hands on piece is puppetry with no strings attached.
Two business people, allowing desire to take over. A world of newspaper, subconscious thoughts. A journey of discovery, a puppet made of newspaper and sticky tape.
Raw sound permeates throughout the performance and remains the only noise on stage. With no dialogue, the piece is universal in its language, increasing its audience by making it accessible to non-English speakers and the hearing impaired.
Krinkl Theatre are also showing two new works this year: an indoors work development called ‘The White crane project’ at the Malthouse in the Tower Room on 13th September 2001 and outdoors:‘Suitcase’ in the Laneways project for Melbourne Fringe 2001. Both these pieces use coloured paper.
